May Day
May Day
May 1st, Beltane, May Day and zero planets in retrograde for 3 more days.
My reflection of this “time” that we have had made me requestion my entire thoughts on what retrogrades “feel” like to me. Before I knew what retrogrades meant, the only one I ever heard about was Mercury retrogrades. For context, these retrogrades happen more often because Mercury has the shortest distance to travel around the Sun. They are also shorter periods of time, whereas the outer planets have less frequent retrogrades, but they are in retrograde for longer stretches of time. Jumping back into this feeling of no planets in retrogrades, I began to think about how we often look for something, anything that can help us wrap our head around why a particular thing is happening without a logical explanation. I noticed that whether we are in a period of retrograde or not, I am always in an internal review of my outer experience. With no planets to assist with that internal review, I perceived time to move much faster. Which got me wondering, “Do I feel more comfortable in states of retrogrades?”
This led me to go back to my birth chart and count 6 planets in retrograde the day I came into this world. Maybe I am onto something, some retrogrades could feel like a natural state to me because of this insight. So…like the rising Sagittarius that I am, I began to research this intuitive feeling and low and behold, there are a few astrologers that have studied this from various perspectives. Now, I have my next learning rabbit hole…not that I am not always on a constant rabbit hole discovery<insert eye roll here>.
That said, this is a perfect example of how I use my intuition and reflect on my natal chart and uncover a new part of my existence that gives me something to lean on when life doesn’t seem to make sense. I have unlocked another part of me so that I can optimize my life.
Next up for retrogrades, Pluto, will enter retrograde on May 4 and remain in retrograde until October 13, 2025. This retrograde will be the first time it remains in Aquarius, as it had previously bounced back into Capricorn. What does this mean? The basics are everything that we have already been collectively witnessing regarding questioning people in positions of power and taking a deeper look at the overall societal flaws. This time can also bring intense internal emotions and shadow work for the individual.
What to consider for yourself while Pluto is in retrograde:
Evaluate your own power and where you may be giving it away.
Reconfigure your social media algorithm.
Are you getting the information that excites you or is it stale?Look deeper into trauma loops.
Is your inner child screaming at you to make a change?Simplify self-care rituals. (Another blog on this coming soon)
If self-care feels like a chore, is it even self-care anymore?Practice surrendering and releasing the illusion of control.
